Office removals sequenced around you

Offices, studios, consulting rooms and small units. The lifting is the easy half — the job is the sequence, because what actually costs money is the time the business is not trading.

A household move has one deadline: completion. A business move has a dozen, and they belong to different people — the landlord's loading window, your IT provider's availability, the hour the phones have to answer, the day your staff must be out of the building.

Getting those into the right order is most of the work, which is why the survey for a commercial move is a planning meeting as much as a measure-up. We walk the space, agree a sequence, and put it in writing alongside the quote.

What we move

  • Desks, pedestals, storage and meeting furniture, dismantled and rebuilt
  • IT hardware moved, labelled and protected; reconnection left to your provider
  • Filing and archive, kept in order and traceable as a controlled batch
  • Stock, fixtures and display units for retail and studio space
  • Workshop equipment and light machinery within reasonable weight limits
  • Reception artwork and anything else that warrants more than a blanket

Crates, delivered ahead

Reusable crates go out before the move so staff can pack and label their own desks. It costs nothing extra, the contents are labelled by the person who knows what they are, and it removes an entire day of packing from the move itself. The crates come back afterwards.

The sequence that works

Archive and dormant equipment travel first, while the business carries on trading normally. Then the departments that can afford to be down longest. Then the working floor, over a Friday night or across a weekend. Then snagging on Monday morning while people settle in.

Where a business genuinely cannot empty a building in one go, storage bridges the gap — archive and surplus furniture held while the new space is fitted, delivered when it is ready. That is quoted alongside the move rather than as a separate arrangement.

Access at both ends

In a managed office building or a retail centre the loading window is set by somebody else and is rarely generous. That has to be established before anything else is planned. On an industrial estate it is usually straightforward — proper bays, level access, room to turn. Town-centre offices are the tight ones, and they are also where out-of-hours access and any bay suspension need arranging in advance.

What we will not do

We will not touch network or server configuration, we will not quote a floor we have not walked, and we will not promise a completion hour we cannot stand behind. Where a sequence is genuinely tight we will say so and propose a phased alternative rather than agree to something that will overrun.

Getting a quote

Both addresses, approximate floor area, desk count or a description of the stock, and any loading window either landlord imposes. We will arrange a walk round and come back with a written quote and a proposed sequence. Household work is on house removals.

Questions

Why out of hours?

Because the cost of a business move is not the removals invoice — it is the trading you lose. Closing normally on a Friday and opening in the new premises on Monday costs a little more in crewing and saves considerably more than it costs.

Who reconnects the IT?

Your IT provider. We move, label and protect the hardware and we sequence the delivery so the racks arrive when your people can be on site to plug them in. We do not touch configuration.

Do you supply crates?

Yes, reusable ones rather than cardboard. They stack properly, they protect better, and they go back afterwards. We deliver them ahead of the move so staff can pack and label their own desks.

Can we move in phases?

Often the right approach. Archive and dormant equipment first while the business carries on trading, then departments in an order that keeps you open, then the working floor last.

What about the landlord's loading window?

It is the first thing we establish, not the last. In a managed building or a retail centre the window belongs to somebody else and is rarely generous, and it changes the crew size, the vehicle and sometimes the whole sequence.
